Ashton Whisler establish a new school record in the men's 400m dash.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Whisler made history in the invite section of the men's 400m dash as he raced to a personal best and school record time of 47.84s. His time was good fourth overall out of seven finishers in the invite section and registered as an improvement over his previous NCAA provisional qualifying time in the event by half a second. Junior Sebastien Jean put on an impressive showing in the open section of the men's 400m dash as he earned a second-place finish among 24 competitors while clocking a season-best NCAA provisional qualifying time of 47.94s. Also competing in the open section was freshman Peyton Nelson, who completed the race in a personal best time of 49.59s to finish 15th.
- Whisler and Jean returned to the track along with Kymani Sterling and Daryn Ofori-Kuragu in the men's 4x400m relay and the group proceeded to clock a season-best NCAA provisional qualifying time of 3:13.12 while finishing fifth overall and beating out three NCAA Division I relay teams.
- Just about 30 minutes prior to the 4x400m relay, Sterling began his evening as one of eight competitors in the invite section of the men's 200m, where he posted a time of 21.72s in his first competition in the event this indoor season as the sixth-place finisher. Earlier in the day, Ofori-Kuragu was a participant in the open section of the men's 200m, and he went on to post a new personal best in the event by more than two-tenths of a second while finishing fifth overall among 22 competitors.
- In the open section of the women's 200m dash, senior Victoria Farinas notched a season-best time of 25.17s to finish seventh overall among 20 finishers. Sophomore Danaya Kinnard crossed the finish line in 25.78s to take 11th place in the race.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- With Whisler taking over the top spot on the all-time indoor top five list for the men's 400m with his time of 47.84s, the Mountain Lions now have three current student athletes holding the top three spots with Sterling at No. 2 with a personal best time of 47.87s and Jean at No. 3 with a personal best time of 47.91s.
- With his time of 21.72s in the men's 200m, Ofori-Kuragu moved into fifth-place all-time in program history for the event.
