COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Junior right-hander
Ryder Mancuso of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs baseball team was named the Week Three Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.
Mancuso had one appearance during this past weekend's road series against Northeastern State in Tahlequah, Okla. as the starter of game two of the series. Mancuso's outing turned heads as he tossed 99 pitches, with six punchouts, over a complete game seven innings of work, powering the Mountain Lions to a 5-2 win to cap off Friday's doubleheader. Outside of two solo home runs, one in the sixth inning and one in the seventh inning, Mancuso was unblemished. Three walks and one defensive error allowed for four more baserunners, as Mancuso strode back to the dugout having allowed just six men to reach over seven innings.
Tuesday's Player of the Week nod is the first
Ryder Mancuso's career, coming in his third season with UCCS. Mancuso adds this to his resume that already includes an RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll selection for the 2024 season.
Mancuso and the Mountain Lions open their home schedule on Friday as they take on Adams State in a non-conference tilt at 11 a.m. at Mountain Lion Park.
