KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches (USC) have announced the organization's selections to the All-Region teams Tuesday morning, with five student athletes from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer program earning recognition as part of the All-South Central squad. Redshirt sophomore
Abby Stassi and Junior
Taylynn Levi gain position on the first team, with sophomores
Elise Broberg and
Malia Groshong joining senior
Emily Aguilar on the second team.
A native of Highlands Ranch, Colo.,
Abby Stassi enjoyed a breakout season up front for the Mountain Lions this fall, as she set a new single season program record for goals scored after netting 17 for UCCS. Her 37 points put her second in program history for a single season, as she also provided three assists along the way. An All-RMAC First Team, and D2CCA All-Region First Team selection, Stassi finishes her second tour with the Mountain Lions with perhaps the most successful season by a forward in program history.
Junior midfielder
Taylynn Levi earns her first All-South Central First Team selection in her career, after being named to the Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-South Central region second team in November. Levi, who led the Mountain Lions in goals in her sophomore season, shined in a more facilitator role for the team this fall. Her seven assists were second most on the team, while she also added three goals to bring her season point total to 13 which was fourth best on the roster. Where Levi shined brightest, however, was her ability to connect one of the most stringent defensive lines in the region with a forward group that was among the best not just in the region, but in all of Division II.
Elise Broberg gains her first All-Region recognition of both the season and her career as a member of the USC All-South Central Second Team. Undoubtedly the most under-recognized talent in the South Central region in 2025, Broberg was the catalyst for the Mountain Lion's success from the right side. Showing elite ability on the ball, Broberg provided numerous highlights as she created opportunities, secured possessions, and set up teammates from the wing-back position. Broberg's eight assists on the season were eighth most in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, putting her as high as 7
th most in Division II during the season.
Malia Groshong earns her first All-Region recognition on the USC All-South Central Second Team, quarterbacking a defensive unit that allowed an impressive 0.83 goals per game to opponents in the fall. Groshong, who was the RMAC Freshman of the Year a season ago, continued her strong start to her career on the backline helping the Mountain Lions construct a goal differential of +29, giving up two goals or less in all but one of their matches this season. Groshong adds All-Region accolades after also being named to the All-RMAC second team in early November.
Senior
Emily Aguilar wraps up her time in Colorado Springs, after helping the Mountain Lions to two of the program's three most successful seasons. A two-time South Central region finalist and one-time South Central regional champion, Aguilar finishes her collegiate career with a combined record of 48-18-13 over four seasons, scoring 21 goals with six assists for 48 points on her career.
Abby Stassi and
Taylynn Levi both move on to be considered for the United Soccer Coaches All-America teams, which will be announced on Thursday.
