COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team defeated Metropolitan State University Denver 3-0 on senior day as the top two RMAC teams clashed on Sunday.

All-Time Series: After Sunday's victory against Metro State UCCS is now 15-45-6 all-time against the Roadrunners.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- After a back and forth first 15 minutes, MSU Denver had an open look at the goal following a 16th minute corner, however Luke Noameshie stepped up and made an incredible save to keep the match scoreless.
- Nick Walker got the Mountain Lions on the board first in the 21st minute after receiving a corner kick from Jackson Million and burying the ball in the back of the net.
- The first half came to a close with another UCCS scoring opportunity after Noameshie missed another corner opportunity wide right.
- Miles Seminario drew a foul in the 18-yard box earning himself a penalty shot in the 65th minute. Seminario shot left while Roadrunner Goalkeeper Nick McNeil went right and UCCS extended the lead 2-0.
- The Mountain Lions put the nail in the coffin in the 84th minute as Gael Hernandez snuck the ball past McNeil and pushed the UCCS lead to 3-0.
- The Roadrunners were able to generate attacks, but the UCCS defense excelled at keeping shots to a minimum as they finished out the 3-0 victory.
STATS FROM THE GAME
- The Mountain Lions outshot the Patriots 11 to four with seven shots on goal to DBU's one. UCCS also led the game in corner kicks four to three.
- Walker's 21st minute goal was his seventh on the season and his sixth game winning goal.
- Seminario netted his eighth goal of the year in the 65th minute to retain his team lead in both goals and points.
- Hugo Sjöberg converted on both of his save opportunities today to pick up the clean sheet.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- With today's victory the Mountain Lions pick up their first win against MSU Denver since April 11, 2020. They had gone 0-3-1 against the Roadrunners in that span.
- Gael Hernandez's goal in the 84th minute was the first of his season and his first as a Mountain Lion.
- With his clean sheet today Sjöberg now has five on the season. Sjöberg is just the ninth Mountain Lion to record five clean sheets in a season.

- UCCS travels to Golden, Colo. for their penultimate match against Colorado School of Mines. The game will take place at CSM Stermole Soccer Stadium at 2:30 p.m. (MT).
