DENVER, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country team collected 80 points Saturday morning at the Metropolitan State University Denver Roadrunners Invite held at Washington Park. UCCS finished the 6k race third out of 13 teams. Four Mountain Lions men's runners also ran in the Roadrunners 8k race –

AROUND THE COURSE
- All five Mountain Lion scorers finished in the top 25 Saturday morning. Rachel Richtman (22:20.88) and Kaya Pillivant (22:23.97) paced the Mountain Lions with 15th and 16th place finishes, respectively.
- Five seconds behind Pillivant was Emma Montoya (22:28.76) with a 19th place finish.
- Running in her first 6k race for the Mountain Lions and finishing 21st overall was Madison Brosig in 22:37.90.
- Wrapping up the Mountain Lions scorers in 25th place was Audrey Brunken in a personal best time of 22:49.69,
- Four Mountain Lions ran in the first race of the day at 8:30 a.m. Tyler Campbell paced UCCS with a 38th place finish in a personal best time of 26:02.33. Caden Leal secured a 48th place finish in 26:19.53 for his fastest 8k time, as Pablo Lomeli crossed the finish line in 26:33.59 for 63rd place. Running in his first career race for UCCS was Peter Harrison who notched an 89th place finish in 26:59.09.
RACE LEADERS
- Colorado School of Mines registered 26 points to win the 13-team race, followed by the University of Colorado (32 points), and UCCS.
- Jenna Ramsey-Rutledge of CSM crossed the finish line ahead of all 143 runners to win the individual title in 20:59.0.
BEYOND THE FINISH LINE
- Along with Brosig, Megan Ericksen (29th place, 23:03.49), Emma Finchum (63rd place, 23:46.15), Olivia Sargent (69th place, 23:56.64) and Kaley Fergus (96th place, 25:04.8) ran in their first career 6k race.
- Transfer Lara Murdock saw action for the first time in a UCCS uniform, finishing the race in 23:22.46, placing 41st overall.
- Also improving on their previous 6k career best times were Abby Bartel (23:12.93), Madison Chavez (23:48.56), Brooke Moss (23:30.41) and Maddie Ruszkiewicz (23:05.66).

- The UCCS men's top squad will head to Kenosha, Wis. for the Wisonsin-Parkside Lucian Rosa Invitational next Saturday. The women's top group will run again on Saturday, Oct. 5 at the Live In Lou Classic in Louisville, Ky, and at the Colorado College Ted Castaneda Invite in Colorado Springs, Colo.
