COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – With the conclusion of the 2024 regular season this past weekend, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team earned the No. 3 seed in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship tournament. The Mountain Lions will meet No. 2 seed Colorado Mesa University in the semifinal round on Friday, May 3 at 7 p.m.
Sixth-ranked and No. 1 seed Regis University will play host to the four-team tournament. The Rangers will start the tournament with a semifinal matchup against No. 4 seed Westminster University at 4 p.m. on the campus of Regis University in Denver, Colo.
The Mountain Lions wrapped up the regular season owning a 7-8 overall record and a 5-5 mark in league games, tying Westminster 5-5 conference record. Both teams split with each other during the regular season, but the Mountain Lions won the tiebreaker (head-to-head goal differential) to earn the No. 3 seed.
The tournament this weekend will mark the Mountain Lions fifth straight trip to the conference tournament, and the fourth straight time qualifying as the No. 3 seed. UCCS will also face No. 2 seed CMU for the fourth straight time in the RMAC semifinal round.
The Mavericks edged UCCS in both regular season meetings on April 7 at CMU (15-11) followed by an overtime match at Mountain Lion Stadium on April 19 (12-11).
The winners between No. 1 Regis/No. 4 Westminster and No. 2 Colorado Mesa/No. 3 UCCS will face off in the championship match on Sunday, May 5 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are now available for each of the tournament's three games on the RMAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament page and can be purchased ahead of time. Admission for adults 65 and older and children is priced at $10 per person, while adult tickets are priced at $15 per person. Children five and under will be granted free admission. Students of RMAC institutions will be permitted free admission with their student ID.
