COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced the 2024 selections to the Women's Soccer All-South Central Region teams and Regional Player of the Year honoree Tuesday morning, as junior midfielder
Emily Aguilar of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs being named to the second team.
Forward Reese McDermott continues to rake in the accolades as the Colorado School of Mines senior collects her third player of the year selection of the fall season after being named Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Player of the Year, RMAC All-Academic Player of the Year, RMAC Tournament MVP, and now All-South Central Region Player of the Year. McDermott finished the regular season with 16 goals including six game winners, with five assists for a 37 point total.
The D2CCA All-South Central Region Teams and Regional Player of the Year were nominated and voted on by the Sports Information Directors from the Lone Star Conference (LSC) and the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).
Earning her first All-Region selection,
Emily Aguilar had the best year of her three year tenure at UCCS after netting seven goals and one assist on the season, besting her six goal total from her sophomore campaign. Aguilar kickstarted her season, scoring the opening goal of the fall, in a 1-1 draw at Western Oregon on September 5
th, going on to net six more tallies including one game winner across the 18 appearances she made on the year.
The members of the All-South Central first team, which included seven student athletes form the LSC, and six student athletes form the RMAC will be submitted for All-American consideration, which will be announced in early December.
