COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team opened their RMAC schedule versus Colorado School of Mines as they battled to a 0-0 draw on Thursday night despite both teams having numerous opportunities to score.

- All-Time Series: The Mountain Lions and Orediggers draw just for the fourth time in their matchup history as Mines still controls the all-time series 15-46-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Thursday night's match began with the Orediggers unloading an early shot in the first minute of play. The next 13 minutes saw the Mountain Lions on the attack getting three shots off with two of them needing to be saved by the Mines goalkeeper.
- The rest of the half saw both teams trade possession with UCCS applying just a little more pressure as they rattled off four shots compared to Mines' three. The Mountain Lions last shot of their four down the stretch came from Peter Chang in the 40th minute as he sent a ball near the right sideline almost into the top of the net but just a bit high. The score would be knotted up 0-0 going into the half.
- The second half opened with the Orediggers on the attack as the first four minutes saw them attempt four straight shots with the fourth being a reactive save from Soren Russell knocking the ball out of play.
- The next 20 minutes saw UCCS dominate possession getting four shots off compared to the Orediggers zero but just not able to get one to go.
- The remainder of the game saw two shots go up for Mines and one for the Mountain Lions in the 88th minute but neither team could break up the 0-0 score resulting in the match ending in a draw.
GAME STATISTICS
- UCCS outshot Mines 12-10 but the Orediggers had more shots on goal (4-3) and corner kicks (13-3).
- Russell and UCCS' defense kept the goal clean as Russell recorded four saves on the night.
- Alex Andersson led the Mountain Lions in shots with five and Kolby Raineri added four shots of his own. Chang, Cole Van Holland, and Kaydon Zamora-Reeves all contributed a shot each as well.
- Five Mountain Lions logged 90-minute performances Thursday night, those being Lars Walcyzk, Andersson, Raineri, Rory Soctt, and Martin Launay.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- This is the first 0-0 draw for the Mountain Lions since October 13th, 2022, when UCCS tied with Colorado Christian University.
- With one shot on goal in tonight's match, Raineri moves into a tie for third all-time in program history for the category with 83 in his career.
