HOW IT HAPPENED

- The theme of the first half was the Mountain Lions dominating possession of the ball, as they got eight shots up with two being on goal. The UCCS defense didn't give MSU Denver a chance as they got up zero shot attempts in the entire first half. The game would be tied going into the second half 0-0.
- The second half started with the Roadrunners finally getting some offensive pressure of their own starting with a shot on goal in the 49th minute and a shot missed high in the 55th minute.
- Late in the game, the Mountain Lions flipped momentum their way and were on the attack once again. Getting six shots up, two of them on goal, from the 68th minute to the 82nd minute but couldn't get one to find the back of the net. UCCS got their last chance of the day up after Marvin Putu sent a strike with his left foot in the center of the field from about 30 yards out, but it was unfortunately right to the goalkeeper.
- MSU Denver drew a foul at 89:49 setting them up for a free kick right in front of their bench. Luke Bone took the free kick sending it near the goal finding Andres Arcila Saenz who got a clean look for a header and put it into the net, putting the Roadrunners up 1-0 with ten seconds remaining.
