Julia Patrick had a career game Friday afternoon to lead the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team to complet the season sweep against Colorado State University Pueblo, defeating the ThunderWolves, 23-13, inside Mountain Lion Stadium. The Mountain Lions posted a 23-12 win over the Pack in Pueblo, Colo. earlier this season on April 2.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Sedona Sargent started the game with a goal one minute in from the draw to give the ThunderWolves a 1-0 lead. The lead didn't last long as Brennan Kelly, Julia Patrick and Allie Schell rattled off three straight goals, two of which were assisted by Erica Rivera, to give UCCS a 3-1 lead. The Pack responded with two goals to knot the game at 3-3, before Patrick and Brielle Fannin combined to score two goals apiece and give UCCS a 7-3 lead they would not relinquish after one quarter of action.
- A CSUP goal to start the second stanza was answered when Patrick connected with Sarah Watts for a player-up goal two minutes into the quarter. UCCS went on a 5-1 run in the next six minutes to snag a 13-5 lead. Patrick closed out the first half with her fifth goal of the game, which also proved to be the game-winning goal and her 43rd goal of the season, breaking the program record for most goals scored in a season.
- Leading 14-7 at the break, the Mountain Lions put the game away in the second half, outscoring the ThunderWolves, 9-6. UCCS' second half performance was highlighted by a trio of goals from Rivera, Kathryn Kossack's first goal of the season, Meghan Weiss' second goal of the season and Fannin's fifth goal of the game.
STATS FROM THE GAME
- UCCS held the advantage over CSU Pueblo in shots (35-32), shots on goal (29-27), and saves (14-6), but the Pack led the Mountain Lions in ground balls (28-26) and draw controls (22-17).
- UCCS was successful in 16-of-22 clear attempts as the Pack successfully cleared all 14 of their attempts.
- Patrick led both teams with eight goals, two assists, 10 points, 11 shots and nine shots on goal.
- Fannin added five goals, nine shots, seven shots on goal and two ground balls while Rivera was the third Mountain Lion to record a hat trick. Rivera netted three goals and assisted on three while winning eight draws and picking up five ground balls.
- Frederick caused a team high three turnovers and added a goal and two ground balls to her stat line.
- Madison McGriff made 14 saves in 60 minutes of action, earning a .519 saves percentage.
- Caira Lessick and Sedona Sargent led the Pack with five points each.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- As a team, the Mountain Lions tied the program record for most points scored in a game. The 35 points today marks the fourth time in program history and the second time this season netting 35 points.
- UCCS also netted 23 goals the last time they faced the Pack on April 2, 2023. The 23 goals scored are the most ever in a game.
- Patrick tied the program record for most goals scored in a game (eight), and her 10 points today are the second most ever recorded in a game. Her eight goals brought her season total to 45, breaking the single season record. She has now tallied eight hat tricks this season, including two sock tricks.
- Patrick is now tied for second all-time for career goals (90). She also eclipsed the century mark in draw controls. Her six draws today brought her to 105 all-time, the fourth most in school history.
- Rivera had a career game against the ThunderWolves, recording the most points (six), assists (three), draws (eight) and ground balls (five) in a game.
