Moreni's mark sits just five-hundredths of a second off her season-best national qualifying mark and was the fastest in the competition by more than three-tenths of a second.
  • Also competing at the Jesse Owens Track on Thursday evening was redshirt junior Dillon Andrews, who posted a second-place finish in the men's 400m hurdles with a time of 54.79s.
HOW IT HAPPENED | BRYAN CLAY INVITATIONAL
  • Redshirt freshman Molly Breuer was the first Mountain Lion in action at the Bryan Clay Invitational as she notched a personal best time of 11:11.88 in the 3000m Steeplechase to take the ninth position in her heat.
  • Closing out the night in heat one of the men's 10,000m invite, redshirt senior Afewerki Zeru clocked a national qualifying time of 29:32.59 to finish 31st in his heat, which consisted of a handful of professional runners and 32 Division I competitors. Zeru's time comes up just shy of his personal best and school record time of 28:56.20 that he established last season at the Stanford Invitational, however, it currently ranks inside the top-five marks in the nation for the event this outdoor season.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
