PUEBLO, Colo. – Competing in cold and windy conditions, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's and women's track & field teams continued their outdoor season on Friday and Saturday at the Spank Blasing Invitational in Pueblo, Colo.

HOW IT HAPPENED | FRIDAY
- Redshirt junior Audrey Bloomquist posted the first of two NCAA qualifying marks on Friday afternoon as she notched a personal best mark of 12.22m in the women's triple jump to finish third overall in the competition. Freshman Kathryn Carroll made her outdoor debut in the triple jump and placed 11th with a mark of 11.08m, while redshirt junior Christine Bailey finished 13th at 10.60m and freshman Brianna Spencer claimed 15th at 10.31m.
- In the men's triple jump, redshirt senior Dakota Abbott jumped to a NCAA provisional qualifying mark of 14.85m to earn a first place finish in the event. Redshirt junior Peyton Turnage and junior Richard Safoh also placed inside the top-ten in the event, with Turnage taking third place at a mark of 14.68m and Safoh leaping 13.85m for a sixth place finish.
- At the throws ring, freshman Michael Roberts posted a personal best mark in the hammer throw by more than 13 meters with a toss of 46.63m and a 13th place finish.
- Redshirt junior Anna Holland was the top finisher for the Mountain Lions in the women's hammer throw as she recorded a mark of 49.75m for a ninth-place finish overall. Redshirt junior Cassielynn Bonner posted a 14th place finish in the event with a mark of 43.89m, while freshman Toryn Turpin posted a personal best mark of 35.00m for a 29th place finish.
- Junior Caroline Walters paced UCCS in the women's javelin throw, posting an eighth place finish with a toss of 34.32m. Redshirt junior Kamryn Bohlken and freshman Nicole Castillio also notched top-20 finishes with Bohlken taking 11th place at 32.35m and Castillio taking 17th place with a personal best throw of 29.16m.
- A pair of Mountain Lion throwers were in action at the men's javelin throw as redshirt junior Seth Richmond was the top UCCS finisher with an 11th place toss of 44.71m and redshirt junior Daniel Furcron recorded a toss of 40.31m for an 18th place finish.
HOW IT HAPPENED | SATURDAY
- Junior Kate Hedlund put together a strong race in the women's 1,500m as she clocked an altitude-converted time of 4:28.87 for a second place finish that also registered as a national qualifying mark. Sophomore Anna Fauske narrowly missed reaching the NCAA provisional standard with a converted time of 4:32.39 for a fourth place finish in the field.
- Another NCAA provisional mark was attained by junior Melissa Moreni in the women's 100m hurdles, where she clocked a converted time of 14.17s to finish in second place. Redshirt juniors Maggie Remsberg and Faith Novess also clocked top-ten finishes, with Remsberg coming across the line in eighth place at a raw time of 14.89s and Novess posting a personal best raw time of 15.11s for a ninth place finish.
- The Mountain Lions claimed the top four spots in the women's 100m dash, led by redshirt senior Brittany Fuchs who raced to a first place and national qualifying converted time of 11.83s. Coming in just behind Fuchs were sophomore Victoria Farinas, junior Keyanda Bolton, and redshirt junior Audrey Bloomquist with respective converted times of 11.95s, 11.97s, and 12.01s to take the second, third, and fourth spots. Moreni also doubled down to notch a ninth place finish in the event with a personal record raw time of 12.30s.
- In the men's 100m dash, redshirt senior Justice Mendoza was the first Mountain Lion across the line as he clocked a second place finish with a converted time of 10.70s. Just behind Mendoza were redshirt junior Brian Mosley Jr. with a third place converted time of 10.71s and sophomore Kymani Sterling with a converted time of 10.77s that was good for sixth place overall.
- The Mountain Lions claimed a pair of event wins in the men's and women's 4x100m relay races, with Mosley Jr, Mendoza, Sterling, and Mason Pastorello combining to clock a raw time of 41.29s for the men's gold medal and Bloomquist, Bolton, Fuchs, and Farinas passing off the baton for the gold medal on the women's side with a raw time of 47.00s.
- In the women's 3,000m steeplechase, redshirt freshman Molly Breuer was the first UCCS finisher as she posted a time of 11:29.40 for a fourth place finish. Brooke Moss and Nadine Almasri were also in action in the race, notching respective times of 12:26.07 and 12:27.59 to claim 14th and 15th place.
- Freshman Sebastien Jean paced the Mountain Lions in the men's 400m dash, finishing fifth overall with a time of 50.02s. Senior Angel Laca also raced in the same event and managed to record a seventh place finish with a time of 50.53s. On the women's side of the 400m, sophomores Amber Davis and Alyssa Lopez claimed the sixth and seventh positions in the race while posting times of 59.06s and 59.31s, respectively.
- Redshirt junior Dillon Andrews notched a third-place finish in the men's 400m hurdles as he completed the race in 53.30 seconds.
- In the women's 800m, Hedlund notched a fifth place finish at 2:15.96, while Fauske and Michela Hewitt crossed the line close together with Fauske taking ninth place at 2:20.31 and Hewitt claiming 11th place at 2:20.82.
- At the high jump pit, Skye Ciccarelli was the top men's finisher for UCCS as he cleared a bar height of 1.95m for a 4th place finish, while Caden Frasl tied for 13th place at a mark of 1.80m. In the women's competition, Remsberg and Novess both cleared a bar height of 1.55m to tie for sixth place.
- In the women's pole vault, Spencer notched a mark of 3.44m that was good for ninth in the competition and ranks as the fourth-best mark in UCCS outdoor program history.
- On the long jump runway, Turnage led the way for the Mountain Lions with a second place finish in the men's competition at 7.02m. Richard Safoh (6.99m), Grant Haskins (6.99m), and Daryon Wilson (6.95m) also notched top-five marks in the event with their marks. On the women's side, Bloomquist paced UCCS as she leaped to a fifth place mark of 5.50m.
BEYOND THE RESULTS
- Bloomquist's triple jump mark of 12.22m ranks third all-time in UCCS program history. Her raw time of 11.98s in 100m dash also sits fifth all-time in school history.
- Farinas' raw mark of 11.92s in the 100m dash ranks third all-time in program history, while Bolton's raw 100m time of 11.94s sits fourth all-time.
