PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's golf team carded a tournament-best score of 324 on Tuesday to move up one spot for a 13
th place finish at the DBU Poppy Hills Patriot Invitational with a three-round score of 981.

- Leading the way for the Mountain Lions was Emily Shimkus, who carded a 78 in the third and final round of the tournament to bring her total to 235 (79, 78, 78) for a T34th finish in the 81-person field. For the tournament, Shimkus totaled 30 pars and three birdies.
- Olivia Florence notched a T42nd place finish after she recorded one birdie and seven pars in round three for an 82, bringing her tournament total to 239 (80, 77, 82). Florence ends the tournament with a team-leading four birdies.
- Coming in at T62nd was Kaya Kshatriya, who carded an 82 on Tuesday to close the tournament after shooting 83 in both rounds yesterday. Kshatriya finishes the tournament with a total score of 248 as she tallied 21 pars and three birdies.
- Rounding out the Mountain Lion scorers was Samantha Saile in 73rd place after she posted her best round of the tournament in the third round with a score of 82. Saile finishes with a three-round total of 259 (88, 89, 82) while recording two birdies and 17 pars.
- Rachel Penzenstadler closed the tournament with a three-round total of 284 (96, 89, 99)
TOURNAMENT LEADERS
- Dartmouth College claimed the team title, recording an 886 (291, 289, 306) to finish three strokes ahead of host school Dallas Baptist University.
- Point Loma University's Alli Kim brought home the individual title with an even score of 213 (72, 69, 72), narrowly edging out Dartmouth's Katherine Sung by one stroke.
BEYOND THE SCORECARD
- As a team, the Mountain Lions totaled 105 pars and 13 birdies for the tournament. UCCS also finished 11th in par 5 scoring (5.50) and 14th in par 3 (3.65) and par 4 (4.90) scoring.
- Kshatriya led the UCCS in par 3 scoring with an average of 3.33 that ranked 22nd in the tournament field.
- Shimkus paced the Mountain Lions in both par 4 and par 5 scoring, notching averages of 4.48 and 5.08, respectively.

- The Mountain Lions will be back on the links next week as they head to Temecula, Calif., to compete at the CSUSM Spring Invitational on March 27-28.
