COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country student-athlete Anna Fauske earned her second straight U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-America honors for cross country this past Saturday.  The USTFCCCA announced the men's and women's All-America honors for the 2023 NCAA Division II Cross Country season on Monday.

Athletes from member institutions earned All-America recognition by finishing among the top-40 athletes in their gender's respective races this past weekend at the 2023 NCAA Division II Cross Country Championships in Joplin, Missouri.

Fauske paced the Mountain Lions on Saturday after finishing ninth overall as the Mountain Lions recorded 369 team points to earn a 12th place finish out of 34 teams.  Competing in her third straight national cross country championship meet, Fauske ran a personal best time of 20:09.5, bettering her previous mark by 31 seconds.

Fauske becomes the fifth Mountain Lion to record a top-10 finish at the national meet: Layla Almasri (10th place in 2022), Kayla Wooten (eighth place in 2018), Shannon Payne (third place in 2008) and Payne in 2005 (10th place), and the fifth Mountain Lion to earn multiple All-America accolades.
