HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Mountain Lions had a large group of eight student-athletes competing in the men's 200m dash, with sophomore Kymani Sterling leading the way for UCCS with a sixth overall finish as he notched a time of 21.81s in his first race of the indoor season. Right behind Sterling in ninth place was redshirt junior Brian Mosley Jr., who raced to a time of 21.99s. Also placing in the top-15 of the race were redshirt sophomore Justice Mendoza (11th – 22.13s), Mason Pastorello (12th – 22.16s), and Daryn Ofori-Kuragu (14th – 22.36s).
  • In the women's 200m, both student-athletes in action put forth a strong showing as redshirt senior Brittany Fuchs claimed fourth overall in the race with a raw time of 25.08s and redshirt sophomore Keyanda Bolton clocked an indoor PR with a raw time of 25.13s to finish in sixth place.
  • Freshman Andrew Muncy highlighted a strong stable of men's 400m runners on Saturday afternoon as he clocked a season-best time of 48.70s for a second-place finish. Redshirt junior Dillon Andrews also clocked a strong performance in the event with a fourth-place finish and a season-best time of 49.28s. At the women's 400m race, freshman Skylar Hawk put together the best race of her collegiate career as she recorded a fifth-place finish with a personal-best raw time of 59.09s that cleared her previous best by nearly three full seconds.
  • Redshirt sophomore Melissa Moreni continued her strong season in the women's 60m hurdles as she finished seventh in the prelim with a time of 8.97s before improving to fourth overall in the final by crossing the line at 8.70s. Her altitude-converted time of 8.72s sits just .05 seconds off her season-best for the event.
  • At the women's 60m dash, redshirt junior Audrey Bloomquist was the lone Mountain Lion in the competition as she earned a qualifying time of 7.79s in the prelim before going on to clock a fourth-place time of 7.91s in the event final.
