Records: UCCS (3-1-0, 0-0-0 RMAC), Southwestern Oklahoma State (0-2-1, 0-0-0 GAC)
Location: SWOSU Flex-Chem Field | Weatherford, Okla.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two teams traded shots in the opening 20 minutes of the match. That is until Abby Barhydt sent a ball into the box, finding Makayla Merlo who deflected it to sophomore Sydney Lasater, ripping a shot into the back of the net to give the Mountain Lions an early 1-0 advantage.
- Following a free kick, the Mountain Lions went on the counterattack. Gabriella Lancaster stole an errant pass from the Bulldogs goalkeeper, drove down the right side of the field and crossed a ball to Jessica Rockwell who buried right footed shot in the 43rd minute of action.
- While SWOSU spent limited time in the offensive zone, they found a crease in the Mountain Lions defense early in the second half. Launa Torrez beat goalkeeper Alexis Walker on the near side of the goal to narrow the gap to 2-1.
- Much like their last game, the UCCS defense played lights out in the second half, preventing the Bulldogs from a single shot attempt after their lone goal of the game. The Mountain Lions attempted 17 shots in the second half, providing ample pressure to lift them to a 2-1 victory.
STATS FROM THE DAY
- UCCS outshot SWOSU 30-7, besting them in shots on goal (14-3) and corner kicks (7-2).
- Lasater once again led the Mountain Lions in shots (seven) and shots on goal (five). Merlo, Barhydt and Rockwell all attempted four shots.
