HOW IT HAPPENED:
• The Mountain Lions looked ready to attack Central Washington in the opening minutes after
Abby Barhydt notched the game's first shot just two minutes in to give some life to the UCCS offense.
• UCCS went on to dominate possession for a majority of the first half as
Kelsey Takahashi took the offensive reigns by recording two shots on goal off two shots, but the Wildcat defense hung on enough to keep the Mountain Lions just out of reach with a trio of saves from CWU's Kassandra Jaggard.
• UCCS continued to push with half of the Mountain Lions' (10) first half shots coming in the span of three minutes to close out the opening 45 minutes as the CWU backline held up to keep it scoreless.
• On the other side of the field, it was the disrupting Mountain Lion defense who also put on a show as they shutout the Wildcats to no shots or shots on goal to make it an even match heading into halftime.
• In the second half, it came to be the same result for both teams as neither defense caved in. The Mountain Lions more than doubled their shots on frame from the first half with four shots on goal coming off the foot of four different Mountain Lions, but CWU did not go away and kept UCCS at bay.
• The Wildcats found some openings of their own and generated a small glimpse of offense but were unable to captitalize as the Mountain Lions limited CWU to just four shots as UCCS'
Alexis Walker claimed two saves to bring the match to a 0-0 draw.
