5/2/2022 3:30:00 PM

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs redshirt sophomore's Madison McGriff and Hannah Mill have swept the final Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week awards, announced Monday afternoon by the league office.  McGriff is earning her fourth RMAC Defensive Player of the Week accolade this season, while Mill has secured her second of the 2022 season (March 28).

The Mountain Lions ended the regular season with a road split against Colorado Mesa University (L, 16-13) and Westminster College (W, 21-7).

Named the 2022 RMAC Academic Player of the Year earlier today, McGriff protected the posts for the Mountain Lions for all 60 minutes in each game, tallying seven saves against the Mavericks and another seven against the Griffins.  After facing 52 shots, McGriff finished the weekend a .378 save percentage and an 11.50 goals against average, allowing 23 goals in 120 minutes of action.

Mill guided the Mountain Lions to a 14-goal win Saturday afternoon after setting several program records for most goals (eight), points (11), shots (20) and shots on goal (18) recorded in a game.  Her eight goals and 11 points are the most by any RMAC player this season, and it matches the most recorded by anyone in the RMAC since 2019.  Mill finished the weekend totaling 11 goals, three assists, 14 points, 26 shots, 23 shots on goal and four ground balls.  She has posted a hat trick in the last three games and has seven on the year.

UCCS is the No. 3 seed in the RMAC Championship Tournament and will take on No. 2 seed Colorado Mesa on Friday, May 6.  First draw will take place at 4 p.m. from the Regis Lacrosse Field.
