GOODYEAR, Ariz. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's golf team slipped 10 spots on the second day of the RJGA Palm Valley Classic, finishing the two-round tournament with a 620. The Mountain Lions opened the tournament on Friday with a 303 to place seventh after round one before posting a 317 today to record a two-day total of 620. Western New Mexico University is hosting the 28-team tournament at the Palm Valley Golf Club.

FROM THE TEE
- Julia Baroth led the Mountain Lions for the second straight day after sinking 12 pars. After posting a 73 in the opening round on Friday, Baroth finished the tournament finishing in a tie for 43rd place with a 153 (73, 80). She made a run today going par on seven of eight holes.
- Jordyn Allen and Emily Shimkus mirrored each other's scores with a 78 on Friday and a 77 today to place 56th overall with a final score of 155. Allen sunk four birdies, four of which came on the back nine. She started the day with a birdie on her first hole (par 4) and then strung three birdies in six holes on No. 10 (par 4), No. 11 (par 5) and No. 15 (par 4). Shimkus went for nine pars today and added two birdies on par 3 hole No. 4 and finished the day with a birdie on her final hole (par 4).
- Dakotah Kreil added nine pars and a birdie to her tournament score to finish the day with an 83 and a tie for 89th overall. Kreil carded a 76 in the first round to bring her final score to 159.
- Placing fifth for the Mountain Lions and 122nd overall is Olivia Florence with a 164 (76, 88).
TOURNAMENT LEADERS
- Northeastern State won the team title with a 12-over par 588 (298, 290). Colorado Christian University's Faith Kilgore brought home the individual title after carding a seven-under par 137 (69, 68).
BEYOND THE SCORECARD
- UCCS finished with the seventh best Par 5 scoring, averaging 5.23 (+9). The Mountain Lions 15 birdies were the 13th most in the tournament.
- Baroth posted 27 pars, the second most of any individual golfer. Kreil's 4.88 average (-1) on Par 5s was tied for the eighth best mark.
- Kreil and Shimkus each started the day making four pars and a birdie on hole No. 3.

- UCCS will hit the road and travel South to Tucson to compete in the West Texas A&M Desert Invite on April 4-5, held at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon.
