ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Competing in their final round of the fall season, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's golf team recorded a 321 in the second round of the Fort Lewis College Nick Turner Invitational, bringing the two-round total to 638. The Mountain Lions finished 12
th out of the 15-team tournament, held at the Arroya del Oso Golf Course in Albuquerque, N.M.

FROM THE TEE
- Emily Shimkus improved by three strokes from Monday's round, carding a 76 today to finish the tournament in a tie for 31st place with a 155 (79, 76). Shimkus' lone birdie of the tournament came on her third hole of the morning, finishing with a two-over par on each half of the course. She added 12 pars today, bringing her two-day total to 24.
- Rachel Penzenstadler posted an 83 today to go with a team high three birdies and seven pars. Her two-round score of 160 (77, 83) put her in a tie for 50th place.
- Two strokes behind Penzenstadler and finishing in 57th place (tied) is Kaya Kshatriya who carded an 86 on Tuesday, bringing her total to 162 (76, 86). Kshatriya made par on seven holes today and finished the tournament with 17 pars.
- Placing in a tie for 60th place with a 163 and bringing in the Mountain Lion scorers is Olivia Florence. Florence improved by seven strokes today after making nine pars and hitting birdies on No. 1 and No. 6.
- Earning fifth on the UCCS squad is Samantha Saile. Saile finished tied for 69th overall with a 169. Her round of 84 today was one stroke better than yesterday's 85.
- Torri Leung, who played as an individual, tied with Florence for 60th place. Her 77 today is nine strokes better than Monday's 86, summing up her tournament score to 163. Also competing as an individual for UCCS is Eliana Vigil. Vigil scored a 185 (94, 92) to place 75th.
TOURNAMENT LEADERS
- St. Mary's University broke their second place tie with California State University East Bay win the 15-team tournament. SMU carded a 595 (298, 297), besting yesterday's leader – California State University San Marcos – by three strokes (598).
- Caroline Wales of CSU San Marcos and Sydney Williams of Arkansas-Fort Smith tied for the lowest individual score with a one-under par 146.
BEYOND THE SCORECARD
- Five Mountain Lions improved on their round today from Monday's round. Leung recorded the highest jump, taking nine strokes off from yesterday.
- The lowest round of the tournament for UCCS came from Shimkus (76, round two) and Kshatriya (76, round one).
- Shimkus tied for sixth in the field in Par 3 scoring (3.13) and sank the ninth most pars (24).
- Penzenstadler and Leung each notched a team high three birdies, all of which came in today's round.
- As a team, UCCS finished 11th in pars (94), 12th in Par 3 (3.53) and Par 4 (4.48) scoring, and 13th in Par 5 (5.50) scoring and birdies (eight).
