All-Time Series: The Mountain Lions fall to 15-45-3 all-time against the Orediggers.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- In a match that saw UCCS more than double Colorado School of Mines in total shots, it was the Orediggers that drew first blood with an unassisted goal from Tristan Semelsberger giving them a 1-0 advantage in the 7th minute.
- After the early goal, UCCS continued their offensive attack for the remainder of the first half as they unleashed eight additional shots, including four on goal, but were unable to get a shot to fall as CSM took their one goal advantage to the break.
- The shot opportunities for UCCS continued coming out of the intermission as the Mountain Lions managed to take ten more shots on the Oredigger defense, none better than in the 76th when senior Kolby Raineri fired a shot off the right post that fell harmlessly back into play to keep the score at 1-0 in favor of Colorado School of Mines.
- Both teams would benefit from scoring opportunities in the final ten minutes of play as UCCS continued to search for an equalizer, but neither team would find the net with the Orediggers coming away with the 1-0 victory.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
- The Mountain Lions held advantages over the Orediggers in shots (21-5), shots on goal (8-5), and corner kicks (10-4).
