Amelia Junge join Patterson on the RMAC All-Academic First Team as seven other Mountain Lions earn all-academic honor roll.
Colorado State University Pueblo's Litzy Serna was also voted RMAC Co-Academic Player of the Year along with Patterson. First Team All-Academic members, were voted on by the conference's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters.
UCCS' newest program leader in points (69),
Tarah Patterson earns her second major conference award of the spring season after being named RMAC Player of the Year on Apr. 23. Patterson is earning her master's in business administration and records her first career RMAC All-Academic First Team honor. The Colorado Springs, Colo. native led the conference with .778 goals per game and 1.89 points per game as she finished the season with a team high seven goals and 17 points scored. Patterson registered back-to-back games with two goals scored against Westminster College and Colorado Mesa University as she went on to receive RMAC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Also the RMAC leader with 2.33 shots on goal per game, Patterson helped the Mountain Lions record their second consecutive undefeated regular season at 7-0 and the program's second RMAC Regular Season Championship.
Senior
Ella Fischer (Pflugerville, Texas) makes her third straight appearance on the RMAC All-Academic First Team by boasting a 3.978 GPA as a Biology major. A team captain for the 2020-21 Mountain Lions, Fischer started in all nine of UCCS' matches as a midfielder to earn All-RMAC First Team honors. Fischer notched one assist, three shots, and two shots on goal on the offensive side of the ball as she also helped the UCCS defense hold the opposition to just 0.56 goals per game in her 671 minutes played.
From Phoenix, Ariz., junior
Amelia Junge rounds out the all-academic first team selections for the Mountain Lions by holding a 3.681 GPA as a Sport Management major. In her first career appearance on the RMAC All-Academic First Team, Junge played in all nine games while starting in eight to record 546 minutes on the pitch. The midfielder/forward was a threat on the offensive side of the ball with a conference high seven assists on the season and two goals to total 12 points, the RMAC's fourth most on the season. Junge recorded an assist in six of her nine games, including three in the RMAC Quarterfinal match to tie the program's single game record.

Earning her first career RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll selection, redshirt freshman
Makenna Fowler holds a 3.960 GPA as a Political Science major. The Arvada, Colo. native started in every match on a stout UCCS backline that posted five shutouts on the season and held the opposition to a slim 7.1 shots per game. The team leader in minutes played at 753, Fowler has played the full 90 minutes in four matches this season where she has totaled six shots, two shots on goal, and two assists on the offensive side of the ball. On Apr. 7, Fowler earned her first career RMAC Defensive Player of the Week honor as she helped the Mountain Lions register their fourth and fifth shutouts on the year.
Sophomore
Kaitlin Hinkle (Pueblo, Colo.) makes her way onto the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll as the University Studies major holds a 3.906 GPA to earn her first career all-academic honors. The starting forward was second on the team in goals with four while also adding an assist to score the third most points on the team at nine. In her eight games started and nine games played, Hinkle recorded 522 minutes on the pitch where she landed eight of her 19 shots on frame to help a high powered UCC offense outscore the opposition 26-5.
A native of Colorado Springs, Colo., sophomore
Jade Kinsey garners her first career all-academic honor after boasting a 3.828 GP as a Sociology major. As a defender, Kinsey played in every match for the Mountain Lions where she totaled 436 minutes and while helping shutdown opposing offenses to just five goals all season. In her nine games played and four starts, Kinsey aided the UCCS backline in maintaining opponents to 22 shots on goal for the entirety of the season.
Making her second consecutive appearance on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll, junior
Katie Puchino brings in a 3.571 GPA as an Exercise Science major. The Centennial, Colo. native played in three matches for the Mountain Lions where she helped the backline that allowed just 10 shots on goal and three goals. In 139 minutes played, the defender netted her second career goal as she tallied one shot and one shot on goal for the season.
A Business major from Colorado Springs, Colo., sophomore
Zoe Sims adds another career first this season by landing on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll with a 3.971 GPA. An every game starter on the UCCS backline, Sims has registered the second most minutes on the team with 749 while adding a five-game stretch where she played the full 90 minutes as Sims ended the season with playing the entire game seven different times. With four shots and two shots on goal, Sims scored her second career goal in the opening game for her two points on the season. An RMAC Defensive Player of the Week selection on Mar. 31, Sims impressive play on the backline also earned her All-RMAC Honorable Mention.
From Woodbury, Minn., junior
Kendall Stevenson lands her name on the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll as an Exercise Science major with a 3.510 GPA. As a midfielder, Stevenson played in six games and made three starts to total 227 minutes for the 2021 spring season. In her six games, Stevenson recorded six shots and one shot on goal as she tallied her seventh career assist in the first game of the season against Western Colorado University.
Rounding out conference all-academic honor roll is junior
Taylor Wilpolt who makes her second career appearance on honor roll. A Finance major with a 3.799 GPA, Wilpolt played in all but one game this season as she tallied 239 minutes on the pitch. Wilpolt made her one shot and shot on goal count this season as she netted her second career goal against Black Hills State University total two points for the year.
The Mountain Lions wrapped up their 2021 spring season as RMAC Regular Season Champions after finishing the regular season undefeated with a 7-0 record. UCCS hosted the RMAC Tournament where the season ended in the RMAC Semifinal against Westminster College as the Mountain Lions finished with an 8-1 overall record and 5-0 RMAC record.
