TUCSON, Ariz. – Playing in their second tournament in three days, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's golf team is off to a strong start at the West Texas A&M Desert Invite, held at The Lodge at Ventana Canyon in Tucson, Ariz. The Mountain Lions are in sixth place out of 17 teams with an opening round of 315 (+27).

Regina Dillon recorded a 77 in the opening round behind three birdies and is tied for 16
th place. Dillon, who shot an even par on the front nine, drained birdies on holes No. 6 (par 3), No. 8 (par 5) and No. 15 (par 4) and added eight pars.

rd place and one stroke behind Dillon is
Emily Shimkus (78). Shimkus tallied 10 pars on Monday and finished hole No. 2 with a birdie.
Dakotah Kreil opened the tournament Monday with a 79 behind nine pars and one birdie and is tied for 28
th overall.
Julia Eaton recorded 11 pars and is in 36
th place with an 81. Rounding out the Mountain Lions performance on Monday is
Samantha Saile with a 93 (tied-85
th place).
TOURNAMENT LEADERS
Texas A&M-Commerce is on top of the team leaderboard with a 295. Sarah Wongsinth and Michelle Becker of TAMC are tied for first place with a one-under par 71.
