SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's golf team opened the spring season on Monday and are sitting in ninth place after two rounds of the Rattler Invitational, hosted by St. Mary's University at the Dominion Country Club in San Antonio, Texas. UCCS started the tournament shooting a 336 but dropped 19 strokes in round two (317) to bring the first day score to 653.
Julia Baroth is tied for 16
th place with a 154. Baroth shot an 82 in the first round but came back to shave off 10 strokes to net a 72 in the second round.
Only two strokes separate
Dakotah Kreil and
Regina Dillon for 40
th and 41
st place. Kreil tallied a 163 on Monday (83, 80) followed by Dillon's 165 (82, 83).
Julia Eaton is in 45
th place with a 146, followed by
Brianna Vetter's 185.
Dallas Baptist University is leading the nine-team tournament with a 579 (292, 287), 24 strokes better than second place West Texas A&M (603). DBU's Faith DeLaGarca is the individual leader after two rounds, recording a four-under par 140.
The Mountain Lions will tee off the third round on Tuesday at 7 a.m. (MT).
