AMARILLO, Texas – After opening the 2020 West Texas A&M Fall Invitational with a 342, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's golf team bounced back in the second round and improved by 33 strokes on Monday (309). The one day, 36-hole tournament was played at Tascosa Country Club in Amarillo, Texas. UCCS finished the tournament in seventh place with a 651 (342, 309).

Redshirt junior
Julia Baroth (Denver, Colo.) led the Mountain Lions with a third-place finish after shooting a 148. Baroth carded a 78 in the opening round but came back to shoot a 71 in the second round. Baroth posted four birdies on the day, including back-to-back birdies on her final two holes.
Sophomore
Dakotah Kreil (Gilbert, Ariz.) posted a 23
rd place finish (tied) on Monday, recording a two-round score of 159 (80, 79) that featured three birdies.
Teammates
Julia Eaton (Fishers, Ind.) and
Cheryl Gauthier (Liberty Hill, Texas) closed Monday's tournament within two strokes of each other. Both Mountain Lions improved by double digits from the first round to the second round. Eaton, who finished 45
th overall with a 171, started Monday's action with a 93 but shot a 78 in round two for a final score of 171. Gauthier finished 47
th overall with a 173, shooting a 92 in round one and improving to an 81 in round two.
TOURNAMENT LEADERS
West Texas A&M University won both the team and individual titles Monday afternoon. The Buffs led all 11 teams with a 597 (301, 296) on their home course, while Rylie Cook bested all 54 competitors with a one-under par 143 (72, 71).

The Mountain Lions will play their third and final tournament of the fall season Oct. 12-13 at the Colorado State Pueblo Sam Proal Invitational at Pueblo Country Club.
