HURRICANE, Utah – Competing in their third tournament of the fall season, the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's golf team opened the Dixie State University Invitational at Sand Hollow Golf Course with a 327.  The Mountain Lions are sitting in 12^th place out of 14 teams after round one.
 
Simon Fraser University and Holy Names University are tied for first place with a four-over par 292.  Breann Horn of California State-San Marcos currently leads all individuals with a three-under par 69.
 
Junior Julia Baroth is leading UCCS with a 76.  Baroth hit three birdies in the opening round on holes No. 5 (par 4), No. 7 (par 5) and No. 17 (par 5).
 
Dakotah Kreil's 81 has her tied for 43^rd place overall.  Julia Eaton and Brianna Vetter are tied for 60^th place after shooting an 85.  Eaton also birdied on the par 5 hole No. 17.
 
UCCS will begin round two on Tuesday at 10:45 a.m. from hole No. 1.
