COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --
Jenny Smith and
Vanessa Roybal represented the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's cross country team Saturday morning at the Colorado College 6K Invitational, held at Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Smith crossed the finish line in 26:59.5 to place 46th overall, as Roybal posted a 6K time of 29:48.7 for a 56th place finish.
Five schools competed in the women's race that scored points. Adams State University won the meet with 29 points. MSU Denver's Alden Gruidel bested all 58 runners with a time of 22:46.3.
The Mountain Lions will return to competition as a team at the University of Minnesota Roy Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minn. on Sept. 28.
