COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs will go back on the road for the first time in two weeks and it will only be for a single match as the Mountain Lions (8-7, 3-4 RMAC) will look to bounce back from back-to-back losses in a Friday match at Westminster (2-13, 0-6 RMAC). Friday's match will start at 6 p.m., from Behnken Field House in Salt Lake City.
Despite a 1-2 record during a five-day stretch since last Friday, the Mountain Lions continue to lead the RMAC with 13.95 kills per set.
Alyssa Brinton and
Taylor Hamilton both rank among the top 10 leaders in the conference with 3.78 and 3.28 per set, respectively, while Hamilton has the fifth-best hitting percentage in the league at .331.
Morgan Evans ranks No. 23 in the nation and is second in the conference with 10.93 assists per set. She goes into Friday's match with 2,311 career assists and needs 28 to tie for fifth in UCCS record books. Evans is on pace to finish second in UCCS career average records with 9.4 per set.
Natasha Habert is the sixth Mountain Lion in program history with 1,000 career digs and needs 52 to tie for fifth in career records. She is averaging 4.90 digs per set this season, good for fifth in the RMAC, and on pace for the best average in program history.
UCCS holds a 3-0 record all-time against Westminster and overcame a 2-0 deficit in the last meeting to claim a 3-2 victory in the first trip to Westminster in the series history. The Griffins will enter the weekend looking for its first conference win of the season and are led by Amara Spere's 2.94 kills per set on offense. Amber Lamborn is fifth in the RMAC with 0.33 service aces per set.
