COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The accolades continue to pour in for University of Colorado Colorado Springs sophomore Payton Tompkins, as she was named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, announced Tuesday morning by CSC.

The 2025 Academic All-District® Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.  Academic All-District® honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.

Voted to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic First Team, Tompkins also received American Volleyball Coaches Association All-America Honorable Mention honors after being named to the AVCA All-South Central Region Team and to the All-RMAC First Team.  An outside hitter from Dallas, Texas, Tompkins closed out the season ranking fourth in the league in points per set (3.98) and fifth in kills per set (3.5).  She started all 30 matches this year, tallying 371 kills with a .249 hitting percentage, and she added 251 digs (2.4 per set), 43 blocks, and 26 aces.  Tompkins is earning a Business degree from UCCS.

UCCS claimed a share of the RMAC Regular Season title, finishing the 2025 season with a 26-4 overall record and a 13-1 record in league matches.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs.
