COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs will take a strong performance in the final game of the CSU-Pueblo series into a series with the top two teams in the RMAC when the Mountain Lions (8-11 / 6-8 RMAC) play a weekend pod series against Regis (15-7 / 10-1 RMAC) and Fort Lewis (12-11 / 10-2 RMAC). Games will be played at Aspen Field at Fort Lewis.
UCCS closed out the Pueblo series with the second shutout of the season in a 4-0 win against the ThunderWolves.
Dani Fonseca recorded the shutout with strikeouts and added a home run in the sixth inning. She is sixth in the RMAC with a .746 slugging percentage and No. 12 with a .413 batting average. Her 15-game hitting streak is the longest for a Mountain Lion in a contained season since Stacy Haney hit in 21 consecutive games in 2007.
Stephanie Warhoe earned her spot in the starting lineup and is leading the team with a .467 batting average. She made her first start in the final game of the New Mexico Highlands series and was in left field for the entire CSU-Pueblo series.
Regis is a half-game ahead of Fort Lewis for first in the conference standings, but the Skyhawks have the defending player and pitcher of the week. Fort Lewis is the top hitting team in the RMAC and the Rangers are the top fielding team.
Fans will be able to follow the action with live stats through Fort Lewis. Live video will also be provided on America One Sports for $8 per game.
