UCCS used a late 5-2 run in the third set to take a 23-22 lead against Texas Woman's, but the Pioneers extended the set and eventually took a 29-27 win in the set and a 2-1 match lead. Catlett made seven kills in the set and
Cassidy Bush added six kills.
The Mountain Lion defense held Texas Woman's to a .091 hitting percentage in the fourth set and held off a Pioneers rally to force a deciding fifth set on a 25-22 win. UCCS took a 6-4 lead in the fifth set and was tied with Texas Woman's at 9-9, but the Pioneers scored six of the final seven points of the match to claim the 15-10 set win and 3-2 match victory.
