Forre Zook shot a career-best 76 and tied for third overall to lead the University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's golf team in the first round of the second RMAC event of the season today at Bookcliff Country Club. The Mountain Lions were sixth among the 17 teams in the tournament with a 330 for 42-over par.
Zook lowered her career-best by five strokes and her season-best by nine strokes. She was second among conference golfers in the tournament at 4-over par for the fourth-best round in program history. Zook is in position for her best placing in her career by two positions.
Alex Darwin tied for No. 28 in the first round with an opening score of 83 for 11-over par.
Amanda Crites finished with an 84 and
Jamie Zook finished with an 85 as the UCCS scorers today. The Mountain Lions are four strokes behind Angelo State and nine strokes behind fourth-place Western New Mexico in the standings.
UCCS will tee off at 9 a.m., on Tuesday in the final round of the tournament.
