Box Score PUEBLO WEST, Colo. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's golf team finished the first tournament in program history with a ninth-place performance at the first RMAC tournament of the season at the Desert Hawk Golf Course.
Laura Gritz finished in a tie for No. 29 to lead UCCS.
The Mountain Lions improved their team score by seven strokes to a 346 in the second round today. It tied for the best round-to-round improvement among the 15 teams. UCCS finished sixth among the 10 RMAC teams in the tournament.
Gritz shot an 84 in the second round to finish with a two-round score of 167. Raquell Castillo improved her score by six strokes to an 85 today to finish No. 45 overall with a 176 and second for the Mountain Lions.
Forre Zook lowered her round to an 88 today and
Amanda Crites shot an 89 for the final, a five-stroke improvement, to round out the UCCS total.
Up Next: The Mountain Lions compete the second conference tournament of the season Sept. 16-17. Black Hills State will hosted at the Spearfish Canyon Country Club.
