Mountain Lions Continue Road Trip at New Mexico Highlands

LAS VEGAS, N.M. - The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's soccer team (12-2-1 / 8-2-1 RMAC) continues its four-game road trip to finish the regular season when they travel to face New Mexico Highlands (5-8-2 / 3-6-2 RMAC) on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.

The Mountain Lions clinched a spot in the RMAC tournament after a 2-1 win against Colorado Christian on Friday night. UCCS is unbeaten in its last six games and is tied for first in the conference standings with Regis at 25 points. Colorado Mines is one point behind the Mountain Lions and Rangers in the standings.

New Mexico Highlands lost 3-2 to Mines on Friday night at home, and to the Mountain Lions 2-0 when the teams played in Colorado Springs on Sept. 14. The Cowgirls are led on offense by Crystal Schuder's five goals and Marci Johnson, who is third in the RMAC in shots and second in assists.

Hannah Levett and Agnes Arnadottir lead the Mountain Lion offense with eight goals and seven goals, respectively.  Hannah Rather is third on the team in goals with four. The Mountain Lions defense is led by two-time RMAC Defensive Player of the Week goalkeeper Kelly Schroeder, who leads theRMAC in save percentage, is tied for second in saves and is third in goals against average.

Among the other games in the RMAC of interest to the Mountain Lions will be Regis at Colorado Mesa and Colorado Mines at Colorado Christian. Metro State, who is three points behind UCCS, travels to Adams State.
