DENVER - Aleah DeGeneres scored twice to lead the No. 14-ranked Metro State Roadrunners to a 3-0 win over the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Sunday afternoon at Auraria Field.

The loss dropped the Mountain Lions to 7-8-1 overall, but more importantly to 4-7-1 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play - a mark good for 13 points (three for each win and one for each tie). That sets up a matchup between UCCS and Nebraska-Kearney, which has 12 points, on Friday at Mountain Lion Stadium for the sixth and final RMAC playoff spot.

If UCCS wins, it will clinch a playoff berth. If the Mountain Lions lose, they will need to beat Mesa State next Sunday and hope the Nebraska-Kearney loses or ties against Adams State the same day. If UCCS loses either match, Adams State (10 points) could also claim the sixth seed by winning its final two matches.

The Mountain Lions' outlook in the aforementioned scenarios could have been strengthened if they could have found a way to beat national-powerhouse Metro State Sunday. After 31 evenly-matched minutes, however, DeGeneres took a through pass from Ashley Nemmers on the right side and blasted it past UCCS goalkeeper Sydney Reiners, who was making her first start of the season.

The 1-0 lead held until there was less than 11 minutes remaining. At the 79:19 mark, Nemmers scored on a Nicole Pollack pass. DeGeneres scored again with 22 seconds remaining after a UCCS turnover in the midfield.

Reiners made six saves for UCCS, while Sarah Tanous stopped seven shots to earn her second shutout of the season.
