COLORADO SPRINGS - Elisabeth Markussen and Lindsay McHorse each score twice to lead the West Texas A&M Buffaloes to a 4-0 victory over the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Tuesday afternoon at Mountain Lion Stadium.

The Mountain Lions (2-6-1) were outshot 25-10 and struggled to get any offense mounted against the stingy WTAMU defense. The Buffaloes (7-1-1) have now outscored their opponents 48-11 this season.

Tuesday, WTAMU took the lead at the 9:41 mark. Miriam Dominguez had the ball just past midfield and was dribbling hard to her right when she managed to toe the ball to the left. The change of direction allowed her to shake her defender and drive uncontested to 15-yards out, where she launched a low, hard shot. UCCS goalkeeper Amie Kern stopped the shot, but could not prevent the ball from rebounding to her left, where McHorse one-timed it into the goal.

In the 26th minute, Adi Stein made a head fake and drove into the left side of the penalty area. Having gained a step on her defender, she sent a perfect pass to Markussen to make it 2-0.

Ashley Armstrong replaced Kern in goal for UCCS at halftime and made seven saves. The Buffaloes took full advantage, though, of the two occasions she couldn't hold onto the ball.

The first of those came in the 63rd minute, when Armstrong misplayed a long floater into the box. The ball slipped through her hands, off her knee and rolled straight to Markussen who easily slipped it in for her 11th goal of the season.

McHorse got her second goal of the day and sixth of the season in the 82nd minute when her point-blank shot was stopped, but not controlled, by Armstrong. McHorse converted the rebound.

Lisha Jungmann made four saves to earn the win for West Texas A&M.
