LAS VEGAS, N.M. - Monica Vazquez scored the only goal for the New Mexico Highlands to lead the Cowgirls to a 1-0 win over the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs Friday afternoon at Michael Messina Field.
The loss put the Mountain Lions to 3-8-1 this season and 1-6 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. New Mexico Highlands moved to 5-7-1, 3-5 RMAC.
After a UCCS foul early in the first half, Vazquez free kicked it into the back of the net to earn the games only goal 10:37 into the half.
Shannon Delarosbil (5-7-1) earned the win for the Cowgirls with four saves. Amy Kern (3-8-1) took the loss with 10 saves.
