SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - The No. 2 University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team traveled to Salt Lake City, Utah, this week for an RMAC matchup against Westminster at WU Dumke Field with the Mountain Lions and Griffins finishing in a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes of competitive play.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Westminster's Owen Gallo tested UCCS goalkeeper Hugo Sjöberg early, but Sjöberg made the save on Gallo's low shot toward the center of the goal.
- The Mountain Lions struck first in the seventh minute, when Dalton Uehling found the back of the net with a low shot to the right side. Eduardo Macias was credited with the assist.
- Following the early goal, both defenses settled in, with neither team recording a shot for the next six minutes. UCCS' Dillon Clarke broke the stretch in the 14th minute, but his shot sailed just left of the target.
- Westminster looked to respond and create an opportunity to equalize, but Sjöberg came through again, recording his second save of the match on another low shot from Gallo.
- The Griffins earned back-to-back corner kicks but could not find the equalizer with 18 minutes remaining in the first half. UCCS' Moses Kamara then looked to extend the Mountain Lions' lead with a late shot, but his attempt missed to the right.
- Westminster eventually found the equalizer late in the first half, sending the teams into halftime tied 1-1.
- Kieron Richardson and Cole Wearner opened the second half with two shots for UCCS, but both attempts missed high, one to the right and the other to the left.
- The Mountain Lions and Griffins traded shots around the 59-minute mark. Marcus Garcia's attempt missed high and left, while Gallo responded with a shot that also missed to the left at the 65-minute mark.
- Sjöberg then came up with back-to-back saves on shots from Kasen Smith and Gallo to keep the match level.
- The Griffins recorded three consecutive shots and a corner kick within one minute at the 81-minute mark, but UCCS' defense held firm.
- Neither team could pull ahead after 90 minutes of play, as the Mountain Lions and Griffins finished in a 1-1 draw.
STATS FROM THE GAME:
- The Griffins outshot the Mountain Lions 14-18 for the match while edging the Griffins on saves 9-4.
- Sjöberg recorded nine saves on the afternoon.
- Yohann Fila and Lucas Taitt led the Mountain Lions with two shots each.
