4/16/2026 4:00:00 PM

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The University of Colorado Colorado Springs Department of Athletics proudly announces that former men's basketball standout Derrick White has been selected for induction into the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Hall of Fame.

"I'm thankful for my time I spent in the RMAC and wouldn't be where I'm at without my time at UCCS," said White.

One of the most accomplished student-athletes in program history, White competed for the Mountain Lions from 2012–15 and helped elevate UCCS men's basketball to new heights. During his tenure, he became one of the most dynamic players in NCAA Division II, earning multiple All-America honors and leading the Mountain Lions to a 2015 RMAC Tournament Championship and NCAA South Central Regional appearances.

White's junior season in 2014–15 stands among the most dominant in RMAC history. He averaged 25.8 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game while setting the RMAC single-season scoring record with 851 points. He also set conference and program records in assists and produced a historic 50-point performance in the NCAA Tournament—helping secure the first NCAA Tournament win in UCCS history.

Over his career at UCCS, White totaled 1,912 points, 513 rebounds, and 343 assists, finishing as one of the most complete players in program history. His accolades include RMAC Freshman of the Year (2012–13), multiple All-RMAC First Team selections, and numerous national player of the week honors.

A native of Parker, Colo., White played his final season at the University of Colorado in 2016-17.  Named to the 2017 Pac-12 All-Conference First Team and All-Defensive Team, White was one of two players (Markelle Fultz) to rank in the Pac-12 Top 10 in scoring, assists and blocked shots.

Following his standout collegiate career, White has achieved remarkable success at the highest levels of basketball. He was selected in the first round of the 2017 NBA Draft and has become one of the league's premier two-way guards. His professional accomplishments include winning an NBA Championship with the Boston Celtics in 2024, earning NBA All-Defensive Team honors in 2023, and capturing a gold medal with Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In his ninth season in the NBA, White has been named to the All-Defensive Team twice, the NBA Player of the Week twice, and an NBA Defensive Player of the Month.

The 2026 RMAC Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony will be held in conjunction with the league's 2026 Awards Banquet on Thursday, July 9, at the COS City Hub in Colorado Springs. Doors will open at 5 p.m. (MST), and the induction and awards ceremonies will follow promptly at 6 p.m. Tickets are available now online at RMACSports.org/Tickets.
