Lacrosse Earns Spot in NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings

4/15/2026 2:53:00 PM

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's lacrosse team has returned to the NCAA Midwest Region rankings for the 2026 season, marking another milestone for the program. After earning its first-ever regional ranking in 2025—and appearing in all three regular season polls last year—the Mountain Lions are once again among eight teams under consideration in the initial NCAA Division II Midwest Region rankings.

Wednesday's release marks the first of three regular season rankings. The NCAA lists teams alphabetically in the opening poll, while the next two rankings (April 22 and April 29) will feature teams in ranked order.

UCCS enters the final week of the regular season riding a four-game winning streak. The Mountain Lions (9-5, 7-2 RMAC) will close out the regular season on Saturday at 12 p.m. with a road matchup against No. 19 Regis University. UCCS has already secured at least the No. 2 seed in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. Regis currently sits atop the conference standings with an 8-1 league mark (12-4 overall).

The NCAA Division II Women's Lacrosse Championship will include 24 teams, with six teams selected from each of the four regions. The tournament bracket will be announced Sunday, May 3 at 6:30 p.m. (MT). First and second round games are scheduled for May 7 and 9, followed by quarterfinals on May 16. The 2026 NCAA Championships will take place May 21 and 23 in Rochester, New York.
