THIS WEEK'S MATCHUP
- COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs women's basketball team begins its postseason journey Tuesday night as the No. 2 seed in the 2026 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championship Tournament. The Mountain Lions will host No. 7 seed Fort Lewis College at 6 p.m. inside Gallogly Events Center in the RMAC quarterfinal round.
- UCCS enters the tournament with a 19-9 overall record and a 15-5 mark in conference play after closing the regular season on a five-game winning streak. The Skyhawks finished 18-10 overall and 11-9 in RMAC action, winning four straight games to end their regular season.
- The winner will advance to the RMAC semifinal round on March 6.

2025-26 REGULAR SEASON IN REVIEW
- The Mountain Lions navigated one of the region's toughest non-conference schedules, facing four nationally ranked opponents. After opening the season with an 88-83 win over the University of Texas-Dallas, UCCS battled top-ranked competition including No. 3 Texas Woman's University, No. 19 West Texas A&M University, and No. 4 Fort Hays State University.
- Once conference play began, UCCS found its rhythm. After a 2-2 start in RMAC action, the Mountain Lions earned a 71-67 home victory over No. 3 Lubbock Christian University on Dec. 16. UCCS won six of its first seven games in the new year and surged into the postseason with five consecutive victories.
NCAA REGIONAL RANKINGS
- UCCS continues to strengthen its NCAA Tournament resume. After being listed among 10 teams under consideration in the first NCAA South Central Regional Rankings, the Mountain Lions moved into the No. 6 spot in the second release.
- The final regional rankings will be announced March 4, with the 64-team NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship field revealed Sunday, March 9 at 8:30 p.m. (MT) on NCAA.com.
RMAC AWARDS
- Two Mountain Lions combined for five RMAC Player of the Week honors during the regular season.
- Ayianna Johnson opened the year with RMAC Offensive Player of the Week recognition on Nov. 17. Redshirt-senior Amyah Moore Allen earned four weekly honors, including two Defensive Player of the Week awards (Nov. 19 and Feb. 16) and two Offensive Player of the Week selections (Jan. 26 and Feb. 23).
- The RMAC will announce its 2026 All-Conference teams Thursday at 10 a.m.
STATISTICAL LEADERS
- UCCS ranks among the RMAC's elite in multiple statistical categories:
- First in field goal percentage (43.9percent) – 28th in Division II
- First in free throw attempts per game (20.3)
- Second in turnover margin (+4.9)
- Second in turnovers forced per game (18.9)
- Third in scoring offense (70.3 ppg)
- Third in scoring margin (+5.7)
- Moore Allen has been one of the conference's top two-way performers. She leads the RMAC in field goal attempts (451), ranks second in field goals made (219) and total points (572), and averages 20.4 points per game (third in RMAC, ninth nationally). She also ranks third in steals (62) and fourth in blocks (31).
- Johnson has made an immediate impact in her first season with the program, shooting 54.4 percent from the field (third in RMAC) while averaging 2.9 offensive rebounds per game.
- From beyond the arc, Breelyn Robinson leads the team with 34 three-pointers, while Rylie Ottmann owns a team-best 40 percent three-point percentage.
- Moore Allen and Ottmann have started all 28 games this season.
ALL-TIME SERIES VS. FORT LEWIS
- Tuesday marks the 60th meeting between UCCS and Fort Lewis . The Skyhawks hold a narrow 30-29 edge in the all-time series, though UCCS has won seven consecutive meetings — including a 75-68 road victory in Durango on Jan. 24.
- The Mountain Lions are 19-8 all-time at home against Fort Lewis but will look for their first RMAC Tournament win over the Skyhawks after playoff losses in 2006, 2012 and 2016.
SCOUTING FORT LEWIS
- Fort Lewis relies on defensive pressure and depth. The Skyhawks lead the RMAC in steals per game (13.3) and turnovers forced (22.18), ranking among the top 25 nationally in both categories. Their bench production (27.1 points per game) ranks second in the conference.
- Offensively, FLC averages 69.4 points per game (fourth in RMAC) and ranks in the top three in offensive rebounding (13.1 per game).
- Katie Lamb leads the league with 202 three-point attempts and ranks among the RMAC leaders with 66 made threes. Makaya Porter anchors the interior defense, averaging 1.21 blocks per game (second in RMAC), while Claudia Palacio Gamez averages 3.0 assists per game.
UCCS UNDER HEAD COACH MISTY WILSON
- In her third season at the helm, head coach Misty Wilson owns a 61-29 record at UCCS and has guided the Mountain Lions to three straight RMAC Tournament appearances.
- Last season, UCCS captured the RMAC Tournament Championship with a 63-61 victory over top-seeded Colorado Mesa University on its home floor, advancing to the NCAA Division II Tournament for the first time since 2016-17.

- The highest remaining seed after tomorrow's quarterfinal games will host the final four teams. The winner of Tuesday's matchup between UCCS and Fort Lewis will advance to face the winner of No. 3 Adams State and No. 6 MSU Denver in the semifinal round. Regular-season champion Colorado Mesa University (20-0 RMAC) earned the No. 1 seed and will host No. 8 Colorado School of Mines. The remaining quarterfinal features No. 4 Western Colorado University against No. 5 Black Hills State University.
