2/3/2026 4:00:00 PM

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Junior Jennavieve Goldsworth of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball team has been selected as the Week 1 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Softball Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.

Goldsworth collects the first weekly conference award of her collegiate career after opening the campaign with a huge performance at the South Central Regional Crossover tournament last weekend. The third-year utility player provided a spark out of the leadoff spot in the lineup throughout the Mountain Lions' opening weekend of action as she started each of the team's five games while posting a .591 batting average (13-for-22) with four doubles, two walks, three RBIs, eight runs scored, and six stolen bases. In the Mountain Lions' season-opening, 15-13 win over Sul Ross State University on Friday, Goldsworth became the first UCCS softball player to record a five-hit game since the 2020 season as she put forth a 5-for-6 showing at the plate in which she hit two doubles, scored three runs, recorded two RBIs, and went a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen base attempts. She followed up her five-hit performance with a 2-for-4 showing later in the day in an 18-4 run-rule win over University of Texas Permian Basin. One of three UCCS student-athletes to be named to the Preseason All-RMAC Team, Goldsworth continued her hot hitting on Saturday as she posted a 3-for-5 line in a 7-4 victory over Western New Mexico University to begin the day before recording the team's only two hits with a 2-for-3 showing in a 6-0 defeat to #8 nationally ranked West Texas A&M University. In the team's final game of the weekend, Goldsworth went 1-for-4 with a walk and added three more stolen bases in a 12-0 run-rule win over Sul Ross State.

Goldsworth and the Mountain Lions will return home to Colorado Springs this weekend to host the Southern Colorado Crossover tournament at Mountain Lion Field on Feb. 6-8. UCCS will open the tournament on Friday with a 10 a.m. matchup against the University of Minnesota Crookston before taking on Pittsburg State University at 12:30 p.m.
