Box Score PUEBLO, Colo. – University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball can't recover from early deficit in 80-69 loss at Colorado State Pueblo Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
· The ThunderWolves came out firing in the first few minutes, scoring the first five points of the game before UCCS was able to make their first basket. The hosts built on their lead over the next few minutes, as UCCS got off to a slow start, with CSUP leading by eight 22-14 midway through the first half.
· Scoring picked up down the stretch of the first half, as UCCS took advantage of the game turning towards the fast-paced style the Mountain Lions thrive in. UCCS, however, could only shave two points off the lead before halftime, as the teams departed for the locker room with CSU Pueblo leading 54-48.
· Xavier Martinez erased the deficit with five straight points to start the second half and give UCCS the lead for the first time, 41-40. Unfortunately for the Mountain Lions, Pueblo would then embark on an 18-11 run to the halfway point of the second frame, with CSU Pueblo up 60-52 with ten and a half minutes to play.
· Despite the Mountain Lions' best effort in the final minutes of the game, the hill was just too tall to climb, as the ThunderWolves earn the 80-69 win on home court.
STATS FROM THE DAY
· Brody Hull led the Mountain Lions with 18 points, shooting 7-9 from the paint.
· Xavier Martinez notched a team high four assists for UCCS on the night.
· Four Mountain Lions recorded a multi-steal game with Martinez and Marzouq Abdur-Razaaq each grabbing three steals. Jezza McKenzie and Brody Hull each snared two takeaways.
