HOW IT HAPPENED
- Hugo Sjöberg started off the Mountain Lion's dominate half with an impressive point blank save in the 11th minute, swallowing up Murray Peart's shot. Sean Belzer began a barrage of crosses from the left flank shortly after, with Dalton Uehling heading one over the bar. At the 21st minute, UCCS found their first goal off of Lucas Taitt's left foot. Uehling lofted a through ball to Taitt, who beat his defender and ripped a wicked knuckle ball from the 18-yard box into the top left corner. One minute later, Taitt scored his second goal of the game poking a cross from Diego Macias past Mines goalkeeper Zach MacDonald.
- The Mountain Lions continued to dominate possession and tallied a couple more shots before Taitt bagged a hat trick in the 34th minute. Newly subbed on Ieuan Bailey played around the Oredigger defenders with Eduardo Macias, then whipped a cross into the box which was headed confidently into the left netting by Taitt.
- The Orediggers came out of the break with renewed energy, controlling possession for the first 15 minutes of the half. In the 57th minute, Pol Garcia Oliveras sent a free kick into the Mountain Lion's box, which was flicked past Sjöberg into the goal by Zeus Tabora. Six minutes later, Garcia Oliveras tried the same action again but was denied by Sjöberg this time. From the 75th minute on, the Mountain Lions regained control of possession and began hunting for more offensive chances. In the 83rd minute, Jack Cook intercepted an errant pass from Noah Bills and slotted the ball into the bottom left corner to cap off a successful outing on Senior Day.
