LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs softball team collected academic recognition from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Thursday morning as the program earned an academic team award and had 16 student-athletes named to the EASTON/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list for the 2024-25 campaign.
The UCCS softball program posted a 3.580 cumulative GPA for the 2024-25 academic year, which ranked 58th overall among 119 teams that were honored at the NCAA Division II level. The Mountain Lions were one of seven teams from the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) to be honored with a team award, with Black Hills State University, Colorado School of Mines, Metropolitan State University Denver, Colorado Mesa University, Colorado Christian University, and Fort Lewis College also earning the accolade.
The Mountain Lions also had 16 student-athletes earn recognition on the 2024-25 EASTON/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete list. Nearly 9,200 student-athletes across the collegiate ranks achieved Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete status for the past academic year. Student-athletes who attained a 3.5 GPA or better on a 4.0 scale during the 2024-25 academic year were recognized as NFCA Scholar-Athletes.
