COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs volleyball team finished as RMAC Regular Season Champions with a 3-0 victory over Adams State University.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountain Lions hit .333 as a team in the first set with 17 total kills, including six from Kinley Gomez and five from Payton Tompkins. The UCCS defense also contributed with 15 digs as Gomez and Mackenzie Ransom led the team with eight apiece while holding ASU to a .147 hitting percentage. The Mountain Lions would go on to take the first set 25-21.
- The Grizzlies' offense struggled in the second set, notching nine attack errors while hitting at a .114 clip. UCCS took advantage with 13 kills and two service aces from Nicole Martin to take the second set 25-19.
- The Mountain Lions hit the ball well again in the third set as the team notched 14 kills featuring six from Tompkins. The ASU defense still made it difficult, as it recorded 25 digs. Despite the Grizzlies' best efforts, UCCS pulled away in the third set to win 25-21.
MATCH STATISTICS
- The Mountain Lions had two players tally double digit kills, being Tompkins with 15 and Gomez with 11.
- Mackenzie Ransom was the team leader with 18 digs.
- Maylen Mitrovich led the team with 23 assists, as Audrey Dowd tallied 17 of her own.
- UCCS led the match in kills (44 to 41), assists (44 to 37), and hitting percentage (.296 to .191).
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Mountain Lions' 24th win of the season is a new program best. The team's 12 home wins also eclipses a program record for most in a season.
- UCCS is now 14-2 in three-set matches this season.
- Saturday's win was the Mountain Lions' 12th straight victory.
- With the team's victory on Saturday, UCCS is the 2025 RMAC Regular Season Champion.
