COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's soccer team keeps their undefeated season alive with a 2-1 victory Thursday night over the Colorado Mesa University Mavericks to extend their winning streak to six games.

All-Time Series: Thursday night's matchup against the Mavericks was the 30th in UCCS program history, UCCS is now 7-17-6 in the series and 1-1-2 under current head coach Lewis Wilcox.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Mountain Lions controlled possession of the ball for the majority of the first half, tallying 13 total shots with four on goal, compared to the Mavericks' five shots with one on frame with junior forward Miles Seminario accounting for half of the UCCS shots on goal in the first half.
- The first goal of the contest came off the foot of CMU midfielder Joao Pedro Moraes into the right side of the net past the diving Mountain Lions goalkeeper Soren Russell in the 27th minute.
- The Maverick's goal was answered in the 33rd minute by senior midfielder Dani Barajas into the bottom right of CMU's goal with a double assist from Lars Walczyk and Soulo Letsoalo as Walczyk played the ball in from around midfield to start the UCCS scoring.
- The third and final goal of the match happened in the 59th minute when UCCS defender Dillon Clarke netted the go-ahead goal for his first of the season off the assist of graduate midfielder Jackson Million.
STATS FROM THE GAME
- The Mountain Lions outshot the Mavericks 22 to 12 with six shots on goal to CMU's five. UCCS also led the game in corner kicks seven to four.
- Eight different Mountain Lions recorded shots in Thursday's game with Seminario leading the team and establishing a new season best with five total.
- Walczyk, Letsoalo, and Million each recorded assists with a double assist on the first UCCS goal.
- Goalkeeper Soren Russell logged the entire 90 minutes and saved four of the Mavericks' five shots on goal.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- The Mountain Lions continue to remain undefeated this season with an overall record of 6-0-1 while matching the program winning streak record of six. Their seven-game unbeaten streak is also a program record to begin a season.
- The 22 shots that UCCS took marks the new season high.
- Barajas scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season in the 33rd minute. The senior midfielder also leads the RMAC in goals scored.
- No players for either team drew any cards which marks the first time this has happened in a UCCS match this season.
