COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The University of Colorado Colorado Springs men's basketball falls out of postseason contention with 92-69 loss to Colorado State Uuniversity-Pueblo.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The ThunderWolves came out fast to begin the game, led by Brevin Walter and Makiah Morris who had seven points and six points, respectively. Leading by as much as eight, the visitors held the momentum through the first ten minutes, taking advantage of three UCCS turnovers during that stretch.
- As the first half came to a close, UCCS' offense got going with vigor. Led by ten points from Xavier Martinez, UCCS embarked on a 25-16 run over the final 10:02 of the opening frame. Hitting three of six attempted triples and accepting three ThunderWolf turnovers, UCCS held the two-point lead at 39-37 at the intermission.
- In the second half, Hannes Saar opened the scoring with a driving layup, then CSUP hit back-to-back three's from Armon Muldrew and Brevin Walter to earn the two-point lead at 43-41. For the rest of the game, the ThunderWolves didn't look back.
- After Brevin earned the lead, Pueblo set out on a run of 49 points over UCCS' 28, including a sweltering 7-14 from three, 20-32 from the field, while swiping four steals. Muldrew had 13points and Makiah Morris drained 12 points to lead the charge and secure the 92-69 victory and remain in the postseason hunt.
GAME STATISTICS
- Both Makiah Morris (22) and Armon Muldrew (20) eclipsed the 20-point threshold, with Brevin Walter just falling short with 18.
- Pueblo dominated the box score leading in points from the paint (46-22), second chance points (18-2), and fast break tallies (18-10).
- Ball movement was one of the bright spots for UCCS in this game, earning 14 assists as a squad, with Noah Baca topping the category for UCCS with four.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- UCCS was held below 70 points for the tenth time this year, owning a 3-7 record in games where they could not reach 70 points.
- The Mountain Lions winless streak grows to a season-high, five games.
- With the loss, CSU Pueblo's win the Mountain Lions are no longer able to qualify for the RMAC Men's Basketball Tournament, the ThunderWolves remain in the hunt with one game to go.
