- Krystina Hagood recorded a traditional three-point play less than two minutes into the second quarter that stopped an 11-0 Griffins run. Hagood scored the first seven points for the Mountain Lions in the second stanza to knot the contest at 18-18, before White put UCCS back on top, 20-18, on Hagood's assist at 4:48. Three lead changes later, the Griffins closed out the half outscoring UCCS, 9-2, to take a 27-22 lead at halftime.
- The Mountain Lions turned up the heat in the second half with a strong shooting performance. Starting the half with the ball at half court, Vidal drained a three-pointer as Reynolds added another deep three from the left side to tie the game at 28-28. No one picked up Moore Allen as she drove the length of the court down the right side of the lane to give UCCS a 30-28 lead. White capped off an 8-2 UCCS run with a three-point play as UCCS took a 40-33 lead with four minutes left in the quarter. The Mountain Lions held their lead after three complete quarters, 45-35.
