HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Yellow Jackets opened the night in control, holding UCCS to just five points in five minutes and gaining a 13-5 lead at the 5:06 mark. UCCS guard Breelyn Robinson then caught fire, leading the Mountain Lions to a 10-2 run as she hit three straight three-points to even the game at 15. BHSU would score six unanswered and carry a 21-15 lead into the second quarter.
- The Yellow Jackets completely shut down the Mountain Lions in the second quarter, winning the frame 21-4. UCCS was held scoreless for the last five minutes and 42 seconds of the quarter, and it found itself with a 42-19 deficit heading into halftime.
- UCCS hoped their offensive luck would turn out of the half and got to a good start with a Gia Bradley three-pointer. BHSU held their ground, not letting momentum flip, immediately going on a 14-2 run. From the three-minute mark to the end of the third quarter, the Mountain Lions went on a 9-2 run but would still be down 58-33 heading into the final frame.
- UCCS played the Yellow Jackets nearly even in the fourth, losing the quarter by three (14-11), but BHSU's massive run in the second quarter guided them to an easy 28-point win (72-44).
